Unlike the other directors, my background is not so much diving, but finance. The affinity I have with the dive industry came after my lifelong experience as an independent businessman. Running one’s own business, like DiveVersity, has many parallels which are independent of what specific industry one is in. Not inventing the wheel again and implementing proven business concepts and strategies in an industry that has been dominated by individuals with a dive passion rather than by businessmen, is my prime contribution. This does not mean that I don’t dive; before getting involved with DiveVersity, I became Advanced Open Water Diver in 1998. Unfortunately, with the growth rate of DiveVersity as it is, I get very little underwater time.
One thing I can say though, all the energy going into the company is very rewarding when you look at everything that has been and is being accomplished by our management and staff. If you don’t believe me, come visit us and see for your self.
